Choose your geography quiz

A geography quiz can test visual recognition, place names or location knowledge. Hookito currently offers two multiple-choice games. Both connect each answer to a place on the Earth globe; the difference is what you use to recognise the answer.

Flags: recognise a design

Choose Guess the Flag if you enjoy spotting colours, layouts and symbols. You see a flag and select its country or territory from four names. After answering, see the country on the globe.

Capitals: recall a connection

Choose Guess the Capital to connect countries with city names. The country and its flag are shown, and you select its listed capital. The correct answer is revealed after every attempt.

Neither game has a fixed difficulty level. A question can feel familiar or surprising depending on the places you know. There is no timer: take a moment to reason through the options or use Skip for a fresh question.

One answer, then a place on Earth

Start a game, read the prompt and choose one of four answers. Your selection locks the choices and reveals the correct answer. The globe then locates the country so you can look at its surrounding region before moving on.

The score has two totals: correct answers and questions answered during this visit. Skipping changes neither total. Reloading or leaving a game resets its score, so switching games starts a separate attempt rather than combining your results.

The live globe is an optional visual companion. The questions require JavaScript; WebGL enables globe interaction. If the live globe is unavailable, you can still use the answer buttons and read the feedback.

Give each round a small purpose

  • Notice one detail. After an unfamiliar flag, choose a feature you want to remember before pressing Next.
  • Say the pair. After a capital question, repeat the country and capital together and locate the country on the globe.
  • Study first. Browse flags and capitals by continent in the list of countries, then test yourself with a quiz.
  • Take turns. Share a screen and discuss the choices before submitting. Keep separate scores on paper if you want a friendly group challenge.
  • Follow your curiosity. Use the country picker when you want a place to read about rather than a question to answer.

Professor Kogi is your guide through the quiz pages. The two playable games are the starting point; the clearly labelled catalogue below previews the wider set of quizzes in development.

Questions before you play

Which geography quizzes can I play now?

Guess the Flag and Guess the Capital are playable now. Daily Discovery and the other modes in the Coming soon section are planned for the wider Hookito experience.

Do the quizzes show the answers?

Yes. After you choose, the game identifies the correct answer and locates the country on the globe. It counts correct and answered questions for your current visit.

Do I need an app, account or live globe to play?

No app or account is needed. JavaScript is required for the questions. WebGL enables the interactive globe; when unavailable, a static Earth image appears and you can still answer questions.

Can I use the quizzes for a group activity?

You can take turns choosing answers or discuss a question before submitting it. The site keeps one score for the current game; it does not assign separate player scores or provide a multiplayer room.
